Amelia
Amelia works as an emergency veterinary nurse, and she recently resigned from her full-time job in favor of putting her health and wellness first. Although Amelia suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis…a type of spinal arthritis, and has recently lost both of her parents to cancer…she is determined that 2020 is going to be her best year yet. In the midst of planning her dream wedding in October, Amelia has just started the second 12 week block of her body and lifestyle transformation program.
Amelia started training with me once a week in May 2019, but it was September when she committed to change her habits, one at a time, in order to lose weight. One of the biggest challenges for Amelia in her first block was her diet mindset. That is, the belief that exercising more and eating less is the fast way to lose weight. A more sustainable approach is to focus on changing your lifestyle habits, so that you can increase the quality and frequency of your food, paired with intense exercise (resistance and cardio) for not more than 3 hours a week.
Amelia’s goal is to look and feel beautiful in her dream wedding dress. She is also determined to improve her meal prepping skills and achieve a new set of personal bests with her weight training…in particular to smash her previous record of 31kg bench press for 6 reps.
B Otley
B set out at the beginning of 2020 to put herself first. Her focus has been to improve her mental health and wellbeing as well as get stronger – especially her core. During our initial consultation B said she wanted 2020 to be the year that she created a better work/life balance so that in the future she would feel healthier, fitter and stronger so she could lead an active lifestyle and keep up with her partner. B acknowledged that in the past she often put other people’s needs before her own, and the stress associated with that led to her to her recent weight gain.
When B Otley joined the Vitality Transformations Body and Lifestyle program she focused primarily on creating a new daily routine that enabled her to eat more often and increase her consumption of lean protein and vegetables. B spent only 3 hours per week exercising. In six weeks B achieved the body shape changes you can see in the photos below.

Sherry
Sherry started training with Vitality Transformations in Feb 2019. Her goals have been to increase her upper body strength and build muscle tone in her arms, legs and core. Sherry also wanted to overcome slumping energy levels during the day and has addressed this by improving her nutrition. Since February 2020, Sherry has been a member of my Body and Lifestyle Transformation Program. Nearing the end of her first 12 week training block, Sherry has transitioned seamlessly into twice weekly home-training using a small amount of gym equipment. Sherry freely admits that she needs to be held accountable to complete her workouts, and values our 1 on 1 training sessions as they guarantee she gets them done. Same with her nutrition…she submits her food diary to me every 3 weeks so I can keep track of her food intake and continue recommending improvements. Sherry has embraced some new habits to make sure she doesn’t miss meals and has been changing her food choices to improve her protein intake.
Catherine
Catherine is a shift worker and struggles with maintaining a regular routine and regular sleeping patterns. Even with these challenges, Catherine has just completed the first phase of her journey of looking her absolute best in her wedding dress in August 2019.
When I first started working with Catherine in December 2018, she said she hated any exercise “that raises my heartrate to the extreme”. Her goals were to improve her energy levels and resilience, as well as increase her fitness. She started training with me twice a week to gradually improve her strength base by learning to lift weights. Over the Christmas break she joined Weight Watchers to help her lose weight, but at a dress fitting about a month later she learned that her dress no longer fit. At this point I suggested Catherine allow me to guide her nutrition as well as her exercise programming to get back on track.
Driven by her goal of fitting into her wedding dress, that we laid down a foundation of habits in her first phase, and now she will be stepping up her results adding more intensity to her workouts and continuing to make better food choices that will support her goals to change her shape without eating boring food.
“I NEVER THOUGHT I’D BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT GOES TO THE GYM 4 DAYS A WEEK!!”
